Words from your world, not a textbook
A word from the browser, YouTube, Telegram or a screenshot becomes a card: the translation, the pronunciation and the very sentence you met it in.
An app in the GesWay family
English, learned from what interests you
A word from an article, a video or a chat becomes a card in two taps, and its review comes just when you would start forgetting it. No scheduled lessons, no owls, no “lives”. The third app in the GesWay family, in progress.
In development. The announcement will be on the Telegram channel.
What's inside
What's planned. The list may still change - the app is in the works.
A word from the browser, YouTube, Telegram or a screenshot becomes a card: the translation, the pronunciation and the very sentence you met it in.
The FSRS algorithm - the one Anki uses - decides when to show a card again. You see how many reviews tomorrow holds and set how firmly to remember. Anki decks carry over.
A couple of thousand of the most frequent words cover most of everyday speech. A short test shows what you already know - you start at your own level, not with “apple”.
Paste an article or subtitles - the app shows how many of its words you already know and highlights the new ones. One tap sends a word to your cards with its sentence.
Articles, the present perfect, prepositions and false friends like magazine and accurate - explained briefly, in Russian. Sounds Russian lacks are trained by ear: ship and sheep, think and sink.
No owls, no “lives”, no streak that holds you hostage: a weekly goal and a half-minute review right from the widget. Progress is how many words you know, not experience points.
We'll post in the channel on release day - one message, not a weekly newsletter.
